The University of Rijeka is pleased to announce that the Faculties of Philosophy and Mathematics alongside with the Department of Philosophy, the Chair for Logic and Philosophy of Science, and the Centre for Logic and Decision Theory are jointly hosting the 33<\/strong>rd<\/sup><\/strong> international conference Novembertagung on the History and Philosophy of Mathematics<\/em><\/strong> which will take place at the Faculty of Philosophy on September 15-16, 2023<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Novembertagung on the History and Philosophy of Mathematics is an annual international conference aimed at PhD students and postdoctoral researchers in the history and philosophy of mathematics. The conference has a long history as a friendly event for early-career researchers in the history and philosophy of mathematics. It offers the opportunity to get in touch with others in related areas and to receive valuable feedback on current research. More information about the history of the Novembertagung is available at: https:\/\/novembertagung.wordpress.com\/history\/<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n This year\u2019s theme will be \u201cInteractions between the History and Philosophy of Mathematics<\/strong>,\u201d with a special focus on methodological issues and the notions of mathematical rigor<\/strong>, proof<\/strong>, and algorithm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Keynote lectures will be given by: <\/p>\n\n\n\n This year\u2019s Novembertagung is generously supported by the International Commission on the History of Mathematics<\/strong><\/a> (Germany<\/strong>), the British Society for the History of Mathematics<\/strong><\/a> (UK<\/strong>), the Groupement de recherche 3398 \u201cHistoire des math\u00e9matiques\u201d<\/strong><\/a> du Centre national de la recherche scientifique<\/strong>, and the Archives Henri Poincar\u00e9<\/strong><\/a> (France<\/strong>). The conference is also supported by the Croatian Society for Analytic Philosophy<\/strong><\/a> and the Croatian Logic Association<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
